What are your main interests in software development?
Voalté provides compelling software solutions for healthcare institutions that solve communication problems at the point-of-care. We believe that better, more efficient communication improves clinical performance, which in turn improves patient care, safety and satisfaction.

Our products are designed to be intuitive, high value, mission critical applications running on the latest generation of touch-based smartphones. We provide an exceptional end-to-end user experience. We do it better than anyone else, and we spend our time thinking about ways to improve this experience.

Presentation: Actors or Not: Async Event Architectures

Yaroslav Tkachenko discusses two approaches to an asynchronous event-based architecture. The first is a "classic" style protocol that they've been implementing at Demonware (Activision) for Call of Duty back-end services. The second is an actor-based approach in place at Bench Accounting. He explores the benefits, challenges, and lessons learned architecting both Actor and Non-Actor systems.
