Event Description

Join us for a talk on Agile Methodologies with Mark Kilby. Mark is active in the Agile community and a true practitioner. Whether your new or an old hand at Agile, you'll learn a lot at this presentation. Here's a few words from Mark:

"Agile means many things to many people. There is often focus on the practices of agile (iterations, pair programming, TDD, retrospectives) without understanding why or when to use these practices. In this "conversation", I'll present some of the reasons people "go agile" as well as some often overlooked principles. We will also leave time plenty of time for audience questions."

BIO: Since 1990, Mark Kilby has crafted solutions and guided teams for government, industry, and academia. His experience spans simulation tools for the U.S. military and NASA to integration of legacy enterprise systems with web architectures for the publishing, telecommunications, and other industries. Over the last 6 years, he has helped distributed teams become great agile teams in several organizations.

I got a cheap flight to JavaOne, so unfortunately will miss this presentation, which looks to be excellent. Don't forget, students get into J1 free.

Mark will handle the admin of the meeting as well as give the presentation. Mark, Open Source Bridge, the conference in Portland mid-June, authorizes us to raffle off a free ticket. The JUG discount price is $150, using discount code "osb4228".
